Sean Connery, an iconic actor and better known as the first James Bond passed away this past Saturday. Not surprisingly and in our current political climate, there has been some controversial opinions of how James Bond future should evolve.

Some say the original James Bond signified male chauvinism at its finest. Recently Daniel Craig revitalized the role in "Casino Royale". It is said that Craig holds the record for consuming the most number of drinks while filming to ensure he acted as true to the original masculine persona of James Bond as possible. “No Time To Die" will be the next release in the historic franchise and Craig’s last act. Perhaps most importantly Bond will be replaced by a female version of the character and it is said that the film will focus more on James Bond sensitive side, emotions, and emasculate the character as much as possible.

Even before the pandemic and in the past years we have seen the examples of how far this society and country has become divided over your level of "wokeness", or our new found fear of "cancel culture". Politicians and the media on both sides have used this to their benefit for promoting their opinionated narratives and adding fuel to the fire.

To sum this up, the old womanizing James Bond drinking Martini’s may not be the answer... but the new Jessica Bond drinking gluten free Aperol spritz surely is not either. What matters is making the effort to have peaceful and constructive conversations. Meeting in the middle and focusing on what the citizens of this nation need, not just what the left or right need. Coming together in this democracy and working with political systems that were created by our founders with the ability to evolve. So let’s keep the communication open, honest, and productive no matter which way you vote or the election goes. Until the results are in I think I’ll just enjoy some Vesper Spritzers... or equal parts vodka (the James) and aperol (the Jessica) over ice... 😉 RIP Sean Connery and cheers to you. 🍸
